Costume Designer, IF: Industrial Fashion
“I love to work with fabric as a painter works with paint, layering and mixing materials in order to create a distinctive interpretation on the given theme.”
Alexandra Zvi is a Melbourne-based fashion and costume designer. Originally from England, she has been designing and creating for the past 25 years. Alexandra trained and worked in fashion and costume design, learning commercial and couture methods from tailors, costume makers and textile artists. Working in repertory theatre, film and TV, Alexandra’s costumes are designed rather than reproduced. Her signature style is pattern, colour and embellishment. Today, Alexandra teaches fashion and textiles while continuing to design and produce for dance and theatre productions. She also produces fashion through her Etsy store and website. Whether it is a wall hanging for an interior space, fashion accessory or a one-off garment for a ‘special’ occasion, Alexandra’s passion for her craft is evident throughout.
