Amelia and Eva are Melbourne designers who have had the pleasure of working together for many years.
After both completing their Bachelor of Design (Fashion)(Honours) at RMIT, they began working at a Melbourne-based womenswear atelier, creating luxury, made-to-measure garments. After three years' experience, they were given an opportunity to work alongside artisan pleater, Simon Zdraveski, at Specialty Pleaters, learning the intricate art of hand pleating. Specialty Pleaters is a name that has been synonymous with Melbourne couture since 1927, supplying many famous Melbourne fashion houses including Le Louvre, Melbourne Opera Company & Toni Maticevksi.
The Art & Industry Festival is an opportunity for this historic company to showcase the incredibly beautiful craftsmanship that has been at work for over 90 years.
