Costume Designer, IF: Industrial Fashion
Lizz has a 30+ career in theatre, specialising in puppetry and image making. Her performance background with Handspan Theatre (www.handspantheatre.com.au) honed her skills in creating, performing and making imagery. Recent freelance projects have included the Spirit Birds for “Mountain to Mouth” for the City of Greater Geelong. For Industrial Fashion 2018, her design utilises the hardware of filmmaking: the film reels or spools and exposed film. Lizz secured a collection of over 30 different sized film spools from the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (Canberra), all of which appear in the costume, beautifully modelled by Maddie Marshall.
Lizz Lethlean would like to thank Caitlyn Le Roy and the Conservation Services team at the NATIONAL FILM AND SOUND ARCHIVE OF AUSTRALIA in Canberra.
