The West Gate Bridge Exhibition

A newspaper, momento and photographic collection

This exhibition features photographs, newspaper articles and documents about the West Gate Bridge. The technically-minded will enjoy the opportunity to explore diagrams and photographs of the building of this icon, some of which were provided by the people who built it.

Generating an added depth to this exhibition are photographs and newspaper articles on the collapse of the West Gate Bridge in 1970. The exhibition has been developed as a feature of a training program for those wanting to join the building industry where it acts as a source of information and also as a warning for the need for safe working procedures in work places. It is on loan from the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union’s Education and Training Unit for 10 days only.
