Sam Campbell-McCrea

singer-songwriter, Cabaret amongst the Carriages

Sam Campbell-McCrea is a singer-songwriter, actor and multi-instrumentalist in vocals, guitar and drums. With countless influences, Sam has always set out to write and perform songs that speak to him and resonate with listeners everywhere, composing 60s, 70s and 80s inspired pop through a contemporary lens.

He has gained rich musical experiences playing in his previous band Heatstroke, who were grateful to perform at Tumbafest, Batlow’s Ciderfest, Wagga Food & Wine Festival’, and Griffith’s ‘Rewind in the Vines’ supporting Daryl Braithewaite and Ross Wilson in 2017. In 2017 and 2018, Sam’s original songs placed in the top 10 of the ASA’s National Song Writing Contest and reached the semi-finals of the international song writing ‘Unsigned Only’ competition.

Since then, he has formed a new band called Frostbite, releasing original music in which both singles Twos and Threes and Edge of Bliss reached #11 in the Unearthed Overall chart and #5 in the Unearthed Indie chart. Recently, the band released an EP Closure and single Play, promoting these songs alongside Thirsty Merc in their performances through the Riverina.

Sam is about to commence his third year studying a Bachelor of Music at Victoria University and is looking towards high school music education, hoping to continue writing and performing wherever he can.
